WOW for Sherman Gisclair

Congratulations to Sherman Gisclair for being the first employee awarded a Danos & Curole WOW. At the recent quarterly financial review Sherman was awarded a Danos & Curole WOW for a significant cost savings suggestion. Sherman not only contributed a cost savings suggestion, but more importantly took action, contributing savings to the Marine Division and ultimately the Company operating cost. The details involved in Sherman’s cost savings initiative are listed below.

The M/V Andre Danos wanted all of the parts to repair their sewage treatment plant, Humphrey 10B. This one is in need of constant repairs due to the complexity of the components. The total estimated cost to get the parts would have been about $18,000.00.

Instead, since Sherman had two better performing sewage treatment plants in stock located in New Orleans, he shipped them a new system. The cost of the new system is approx. $5,600.00 and works better that the Humphrey 10B one, due to less complex parts and ease of maintenance. By doing this we have experienced about $12,000.00 in initial savings per system and we have a better working sewage plant with less maintenance costs.
So far this year three of these systems have been replaced and three more are scheduled for a current savings of $36,000.00 and an additional savings of $36,000.00.
