Danos has secured a contract with Williams Partners (Williams) to perform piping and valve modifications to the existing header system at the Pine Needle LNG storage facility operated by Williams in Stokesdale, North Carolina.
The project incorporates six of Danos’ service lines and three subcontractors to complete the facility upgrade. The scope of work includes the replacement of 27 PSVs, as well as piping modifications to 38 other PSVs. Danos will also install a 110-foot dispersion stack and a new 12-inch vent header in the existing pipe rack. The stack will include a CO2 fire suppression skid at the west end of the existing east-west pipe rack. In addition, Danos will install six automated blowdown valves, three automated isolation valves and all related electrical, instrumentation, control systems, cable trays and conduits. The company is also responsible for all associated civil activity required for the facility modifications.
The project is expected to take approximately four months to complete. In addition to on-site construction, Danos will also provide project management, fabrication, automation, coatings and scaffolding services.
“We’ve built a strong partnership with Williams over the past 16 years, and we are proud they’ve selected Danos to execute this project,” said Eric Danos, executive vice president of Danos. “We have worked together on projects from the Gulf of Mexico to Southeast Texas, and we are looking forward to adding North Carolina to the resume. Our team is highly skilled, and our history of delivering on-time, on-budget and incident-free service speaks for itself.”
Danos has worked with Williams since 2001, performing a wide range of services, including similar work at the company’s Discovery plant in Larose. For that facility, Danos managed a gas-to-gas heat exchanger project, a cold feed separator project and a condensate stabilization project–all of which were completed with zero recordable incidents. Along with these projects, Danos’ experience also includes facility upgrades and storage tank installation for other oil-and gas-producing clients.
