Ben Deshtoles Models JSA

Deepwater Operator Ben Deshotels has been with Danos since February 2019. Shell Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) Ken Humphries recently recognized Ben for creating outstanding permits and JSAs creation. As a result, he was issued 50 PRIDE points from Shell. Ken said:

“We’ve been working to improve the quality of our permits to work and JSAs. Today, the operations team had a pretty significant job to do that included two large lockout/tagouts and two phasing the process system. Ben was asked to build the permit and JSA.

Ben’s permit and JSA are examples others should emulate. His documentation was methodical, well thought out and very complete, even including specific torque values – an item often overlooked. His multiple-page JSA was equally well thought out, addressed all foreseen hazards and included appropriate controls.

When individuals create a work product like that, it makes me more comfortable approving the work because I feel like the task has been thought through and hazards mitigated. I really appreciate Ben’s effort in this example.”
