Danos Participates in the 13th Annual Energize Your Destiny

The employee experience begins with attracting and recruiting prospective employees to Danos. We are proud to have recently participated in Energize Your Destiny which is a career and education forum that aligns with and supports our strategies to proactively plan the workforce of the future. The forum is Louisiana’s largest digital conference dedicated to women in the energy sector.
On November 16, the Louisiana Community and Technical College System (LCTCS), in partnership with Shell, held the thirteenth annual forum. This year, the event expanded from five colleges to all 12 colleges within LCTCS. The forum provides a unique platform, convening high school and college students, parents, career counselors, military veterans and members of our communities statewide. The forum was free to all who attended and was held virtually. Attendees learned about the broad offerings of industry aligned programs and services the LCTCS institutions provide, as well as the sustainable career opportunities in STEM that industry partners like Danos offer.
The Education to Employment panel discussion was moderated by Jessica Stegall, Danos recruiting coordinator and program administrator for our field On-the-Job Learning Program. The panel featured alumnae of the LCTCS colleges who have utilized their education and training to enter sustainable careers and succeed as members of Louisiana’s energy sector workforce. Former Danos Intern Bailey Gaiennie served as one of the panelists to represent the partnership of Danos and Fletcher. Bailey successfully completed our On the Job Learning Program and described her path to her current role working offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. Each panelist provided an inspirational story of their journey to a successful career with one panelist describing how her journey has come full circle since she was an attendee years ago in Energize Your Destiny.
Jessica Stegall also facilitated the Take Charge of Your Future segment in which she interviewed Jennifer Saballos, general manager of Gulf of Mexico production assets and capability at Shell. Jennifer described her journey from education to career success, her responsibilities as a Shell general manager and her passion for the energy industry. She also shared the obstacles she had to overcome to position herself for success and how she would challenge the industry’s future female workforce to “take charge” of their future.
Events like this forum provide critical exposure to Danos from a broader demographic of prospective employees. We appreciated the opportunity to showcase the types of job opportunities we have and the partnerships in place to assist in creating pathways to success. The employee experience at Danos is at the forefront of how we operate, and we will continue to focus on becoming and remaining an employer of choice.
