December Giving
December was a busy month for team Danos and the Danos Foundation. Check out some of the volunteer events below that we participated in:
Celebrate the Child Christmas Event
This year’s annual Celebrate the Child Christmas Event was presented by MacDonell Children’s Services, The Haven and Casa of Terrebonne which was held in conjunction with the Houma-Terrebonne Downtown Christmas Parade.
The event included free Santa pictures and kid’s crafts, along with a Christmas Tree decorating contest and the Santa Letters station as hosted by MacDonell Children’s Services.
Nine Danos employees contributed to writing the Santa response letters and were able to log service hours through Danos Works. "To have my employer honor my service to a non-profit that is near to my heart, is the most rewarding feeling and produces a fruitful outcome," said Danos Business System Analyst Jamie Stoot who is the MacDonell Children’s Services Board Chair.
MacDonell looks forward to growing their partnerships with other organizations that share in the fundamentals of their purpose and mission of caring for and providing resources for families and children.

Bags of Hope
Bags of Hope is a local ministry that started five years ago to provide weekly bags of food to 200 kids in the Terrebonne Parish School system.
Danos had the opportunity to provide holiday food bags for 82 children at Broadmoor Elementary and Honduras Elementary. Employees assisted during their lunch break and bagged meals to be shipped off to the schools.

Foster the Love
Danos employees participated in Foster the Love Louisiana’s program of sponsoring children in the Terrebonne Parish foster system for Christmas. 18 employees participated and sponsored 30 children ranging in age from 6 months to 20 years old.

Bunkhouse Drive
Employees at HQ collected nonperishables, cleaning supplies and travel-sized toiletries for the bunkhouse homeless shelter in Houma, LA.
Bless Your Heart
The Bless Your Heart Community Christmas event was a free Christmas party for the South Lafourche area at The Cut Off Youth Center. The event had games, activities, face painting and a petting zoo. Each child received a picture and a gift from Santa. Danos sponsored a craft booth for children to decorate wooden Christmas Tree ornaments that they were able to take home to add to their family's tree.
