Meet Our Field Employee of the Year Finalists

Construction Superintendent Chase Newton is a four-time Employee of the year nominee. He has been with Danos for over seven years. As superintendent, Chase has earned the respect of his crew teams and Danos customers. His organizational skills have allowed him to provide excellent service to Danos customers while supervising and leading our crews. Chase works with all team members to coach them on performance, quality and safety. He is humble, leads by example and never hesitates to assist team members in need.  

Chase’s coworker nominated him for his outstanding leadership abilities saying, “Chase always has a great attitude and always offers a hand when he sees another in need of assistance.”  

Four-time Employee of the Year Nominee Jerry Hendricks Jr. currently serves as fabrication yard superintendent. Jerry has played a large role in the excellent safety record of the fabrication team through his leadership and guidance. He shows respect for his team and leadership through his actions and has over nine years of dedicated service to the company. Jerry performs his duties in a humble manner and enjoys working and winning.  

A coworker said, “Jerry has continued to improve as an employee and as a person year after year. He has shown dedication to Danos and the members of his team in the fabrication shop leading them and working side by side with them.”  

Deepwater Electrician Maurice Chiles stands out because of the way he models service and respect for his teammates and the customer. He has been with Danos nearly two years and is always willing to assist everyone. He knows his craft as an electrician as well as any, is a team player and an all-around good guy. He also participates in coaching and has served as a mentor for many throughout his career. 

A colleague says, “Maurice was a mentor for me many years ago. He always found the time to help in my learning as a young man entering the oilfield. I was truly blessed for his willingness to give his time to me. I also witnessed him helping others offshore any time he could. Great man!”   

Blaster Painter Foreman Roy Simmons is a four-time nominee for Field Employee of the Year. He has earned the respect of his team members, his peers and his customers. This respect comes through his integrity as he is always working to do the right thing when it comes to quality and safety looking out for his team. Roy performs his duties in a humble manner and has served in multiple roles at Danos while continuing to mentor and teach others. His true passion is teaching the next group of painters the tools of the trade. 

A Danos customer said Roy excels in his duties and responsibilities saying, “His knowledge in offshore coatings projects is unparalleled in every aspect of the project. Roy willingly supports tasks outside of his primary responsibilities if needed. Wish I could have Roy on every coating project.”  

Land Warehouseman Terry Schexnider has been with Danos for nearly 25 years. As a two-time Employee of the Year nominee, Terry has been in a leadership role since joining Danos and has always represented Danos well in our value of service to the customer. He has retained the respect of his team by showing them the right and safe way to get things done. Terry has also been instrumental in developing and coaching numerous team members throughout the years.  

Terry’s colleague said, “Terry is very well thought of by our clients and is the kind of employee we need to represent us. Terry lives the Danos values. He is a leader in safety and is quick to recognize his coworkers for their safety leadership. He is a true Danos employee through and through.”
