Zeke Contreras Takes Action to Stop Fire

Saltwater Disposal Operator Ezekiel "Zeke" Contreras recently demonstrated Danos’ high performance culture trait of bias to action when he stepped in to stop a fire that could have quickly escalated.
While headed to a wellsite, Zeke spotted smoke near a facility entrance. Acting quickly, he rerouted to investigate and discovered a pasture fire burning toward a major above-ground gas pipeline. He immediately called the local fire department, grabbed his fire extinguisher and began fighting the fire.
When the extinguisher ran out, Zeke didn’t stop—he grabbed a shovel and began throwing dirt to contain the flames. A few passersby stopped to help, and together they extinguished the fire before emergency crews arrived.
The customer later called to express appreciation for Zeke’s quick thinking and calm under pressure.
“I am very proud that he took the initiative to get involved on his own and was able to control the fire before it got out of hand,” said Account Manager Brandon Patterson.
Thank you, Zeke, for stepping up when it mattered most and showing what it means to lead with action.
